The Science Department, commonly named the Scientific Department, is an independent and civil department of CreepySins' SCPF, that has been established at the founding of the foundation. It has an Overseer representing it in the O5 Council, and features mainly on-site duties with a good share of off-site duties. The department specialises in experimentation and studies on the SCPs contained on Area-27.
Structure
The department features a classic rank structure, with directorate, management, employee and entry ranks.

Assistant Director | Level-4
Head Researcher | Management | Level-3 | These ranks resemble the management floor of the department, responsible for all of the day-to-day management and business of the department. This includes grading research reports.
Research Supervisor | Level-2
Senior Analyst | Employee | See Department Guidelines for more information | General workforce of the department, with the abilities and access on SCPs gradually improving with each rank.
Analyst | Level-1 | |||

Research Assistant | Entry | Successful application | Entry rank of the department, with a training programme to prepare new researchers on becoming a full-fledged member of the department. |
Specializations
The Scientific Department hosts various specializations, allowing their members to expand their knowledge and to improve participation and morale in the department. The specialization are sorted into three classes, "Secondary Research" resembling classic subdivisions, "Committees" resembling working groups for a specific cause, and Programmes. Specializations of Secondary Research have a leading figure, which is a member of department management, often a Head Researcher, who leads and ensures the upkeep of the specialization. The department allows members to be part of only one secondary research specialization at a time, but does not restrict membership on programmes or committees. Specializations may reward their members with specialization points for their work, which also count towards their promotion requirements. Members may receive up to fifty points for research conducted.[3].
Anomalous Biochemistry
The Anomalous Biochemistry Unit (also known simply as "Anomalous Biochemistry"), abbreviated AB, is a specialization of secondary research class. It is responsible for research on SCPs designated as Biohazardous, such as SCP-008[4]. Their leader is the Biochemistry Director, currently MegaDeez789. To enter this specialization, one must hold the rank of Researcher, and submit the corresponding interest form and an invitation by specialization command[5]. Their guidelines are public[6].
Specialized Research Unit
The Specialized Research Unit, abbreviated SRU, is a secondary research specialization under active development. It is responsible for nonconventional research on anomalies, including expeditions to other dimensions, research on entities classified as "Azathoth", as well as neutralization of anomalies. It is lead by the Head of Operations, currently darthvooyid. To enter this specialization, one must hold the rank of Analyst and submit the corresponding Interest Form, following an invitation from specialization command[7]. As the specialization is currently undergoing development within the department, it does not currently have public guidelines.
Other Specializations
The status of the Atomic Research Unit (ARU) is not fully known. The External Research Program allows members to experiment on foreign sites and foreign members to experiment on Area-27. The Editorial Committee is also a part of the department, and is in charge of updating the Anomalous Entity Database.
