Group History

The predecessors of the SCPF have come in many different forms, though most history and information about these past epochs has been lost to time. At present, the Foundation exists in its most stable iteration: SCPF THETA.

Old Era or the Era of Decay

The history of SCPF: THETA is still somewhat hard to find as most of its old announcements are hard to come by. Nevertheless, it can be discerned that it operated more-or-less like a regular Foundation, though was prone to frequent instability.[2][3]

It used the THETA Complex as its only base of operations, forging several alliances with hostile and friendly GoIs alike. Notwithstanding sporadic bursts of activity, the THETA Complex soon succumbed to large-scale inactivity, resulting in major instability and a change in ownership, marking the end of the Old Era.

Modern Era or the Era of Renewal

The instability of the group ended when archzius took ownership of THETA, provisioning new financial support to the group,[4] and appointing dayflare for the Chairman of the Council. Several others changes in administration followed this Era, including a new Code of Ethics, Executive Staff and the complete reformation of the internal security apparatus.

Group leadership, turning their attention to matters of development, realized that a completely new facility was needed to sustain further growth. However, while working on the new site, they also attempted to run ads and encourage activity on the then-active THETA Complex. This effort was unsuccessful, leading to the slow decommissioning of the only active game the SCPF had, marking a gradual transition into a new method of doing things for the group.

New Era or the Era of Preparation

With their domestic affairs and priorities set in order, Group Leadership turned their attention to preparing for the release of their up-coming facility: Research Cavern Orion. This period is characterized by an ambitious foreign policy, with the SCPF creating alliances with significant groups within the Roblox SCP Genre and beyond (see Group Affiliates), and further development and financial backing and a large scale focus on community engagement (gamenights, game trailers, department pre-recruitment).

This Era is currently on-going.
