The Scientific Department, more commonly known as Science Department, is an independent and civilian department that takes place in SCPF: THETA, and acts as the primary focus for all things related to anomalous research, and investigation into the secrets of the unknown, on Research Cavern Orion, it has been with the foundation since the beginning, and has served as one of the larger civilian departments within the Foundation for some time since 2018. It has an Overseer that represents it on behalf of all civilian departments, and features primarily on-site based duties, and off-based duties alike. This department in particular specialises with utilising our Class-D Resources onto the testing on Anomalies in Research Cavern Orion.

Structure

This department features a standardised rank structure that involves the basic rank structure of a normal department with "Research" attached as a prefix for all ranks, in addition to this, each rank has its own features that make the department function as intended and are integral to departmental operations, such as the basics of employees, command, executives, and directorate.

Research Coordinator	Executive	Security Level-3		These ranks resemble the executive floor of the department, responsible for all of the day-to-day management and business of the department. This includes managing with orientations and internships. In addition they are also responsible for managing the internal structure of the department, including admissions.
Research Supervisor
Research Advisor	Command	Security Level-2		The main commanding floor of the department, responsible for the upkeep of quota, and ensuring that all functions of the department are handled smoothly, from day-to-day operations with department staff, to trainings, events, moderation, and community engagement, the command team is responsible for all forms of administration. However it does not handle with admissions.

Research Analyst	Employee	Security Level-1		The main core aspect of the Scientific Department are the researchers that make up the bulk of the department, without them the department would cease normal operations, because of this the majority of staff members will be within these ranks, individuals that are within these ranks typically hold no real authority however they are allowed to test on anomalies based on reason, ethics, and result.
Junior Analyst
Research Assistant	Entry			The Entry rank of the department, with a orientation, and training to prepare new staff on becoming a full-fledged member of the department.
