Initial release | 5 March 2023 |
SCI - Pathos III (or Pathos) is the primary game and installation for Pathos. The game's initial development phase is unknown, but expected to be close to the group's founding (5 March 2020). During the shutdown period and revival, the game remained open. During Pathos' current revival, a new experience was announced to feature a more modern and clean appearance (referred to as Project Rising Dawn[1]), however the current game would receive minor updates in an effort to allow departments to carry out their functions (referred to as Project Trident), as well as keep a steady player base for the new release within Project Rising Dawn.
Project Trident is still currently underway, and efforts are currently being made towards Project Rising Dawn.
Game Lore
Pathos' lore can be found on their game's description[2], which can be found below:
"Located roughly 8,000 feet below the Pacific Ocean and originally constructed as a site to test new technology, Pathos has become one of the largest and most important Foundations in history, testing top secret government-sanctioned projects."
Gameplay lore and documents are drafted and authored by the Lore & Story Production Department, alongside the Overseer Council.
Installation Sites
Pathos' installation is divided into sites, all of which house a different component to support the installations day-to-day operation.
Site Omicron
Site Omicron is the primary housing area for Class D personnel, the Security Department spawns and armory, and the nerve center of all general security operations. Members of the Security Department are responsible for maintaining security within Site Omicron. Various personnel may come here to request Class D personnel for their departmental activities. Site Omicron is also considered a popular spot for conversion amongst personnel.
Site Phi
Site Phi is the primary housing area for all civil personnel. Site Phi houses the Scientific Department, Medical Department, Ethics Committee, Department of Diplomatic Affairs, and various other civil entities. This site also hosts the Cleanrooms, a sub-sector of Site Phi that carries various low-security SCP entities and item objects that are primarily not a hazard to the site's operations.
Site Epsilon
Site Epsilon is the primary housing area for all other SCP entities and item objects, as well as the Mobile Task Forces. All contained SCPs are divided into three different zones.
All operations within Site Epsilon require the presence of the Mobile Task Forces.
Light Containment Zone
The Light Containment Zone, or (the) LCZ, is the central area for other low-level security entities, however houses more sentient anomalies compared to the Cleanrooms.
Moderate Containment Zone
The Moderate Containment Zone, or (the) MCZ, is the central area for most medium-level security entities. This typically has most Euclid level SCPs, but various SCPs can be placed in containment within the MCZ for any reason.
Heavy Containment Zone
The Heavy Containment Zone, or (the) HCZ, is the central area for the majority of higher-risk SCPs. This containment zone is usually reserved for larger/dangerous SCPs that destruct any internal operations.
Site Alpha
Site Alpha is the central housing for all Site Alpha Test Subjects (customized SCP entities not according to the SCP Wiki), departmental organizations, and lore. Site Alpha does not serve a general purpose besides testing efforts. Alpha is primarily used for lore and all information regarding Site Alpha is classified by their authoritative entities.
Alpha Containment Zone
The Alpha Containment Zone houses all Site Alpha Test Subjects.
Installation Command
Installation Command is the central headquarters for all operations done within the installation. Security Class 3 personnel staff this site, and all authoritative functions are carried out here.
