The Scientific Department (ScD) is a civil department of Paragon.
They are the central department responsible for elaborative efforts in the field of research. Composed of an elite team of individuals, their work consists of research efforts with SCP anomalies, site characters (or referred to as lore actors), and documentation of effects from the aforementioned.
The Scientific Department's central hub[1] houses all general information regarding the department, including documents, policy, and additional attachments to various components of this article.

Shaharizard Administration
The department was commissioned on 21 March 2022 alongside various other departments of the SCPF. The department was under the direction of Shaharizard, along with LOUIEisKitted and TMxtthew as Security Class 3 Research Supervisors.
LOUIEisKitted Administration
The department's leadership transferred to LOUIEisKitted, and during this time period changed various internal affairs of the department, including promotional requirements, document reforms, and internal restructure.
A primary change that the LOUIEisKitted administration made to the department was the addition of the Deputy Research Director role to the department, providing the current Research Director with an additional Security Class 4 individual to assist them in departmental executive affairs while remaining under the purview of the Research Director. Additionally, the administration formed the Specialized Research Team, which was a group of researchers of the department inducted into the division to conduct research at a higher level of excellence, and complete matters not normally done by the general departmental staff.
Once this position was added, NotNlkko was selected to serve as the first Deputy Research Director.
LOUIEisKitted was selected to serve as a Site Director for Paragon, and was inducted to the O5 Council. They now serve as the Chairman of the Council.
NotNlkko Administration
NotNlkko was then chosen to become the third Research Director. Under the NotNlkko administration, the department carried on the effect from LOUIEisKitted, and brought minor changes to the department's internal structure.
NotNlkko was selected to serve as a Site Director for Paragon, in a similar effect to his predecessor. They were inducted into the O5 Council. They now serve as the Overseer of the Scientific Department.
Thenameis_User Administration
Thenameis User was then selected to serve as the fourth Research Director. Under their leadership, the department changed various policies, additions to duties of the department, and other utilities and products.
It is currently unknown of the exact date, but the Specialized Research Team was removed from the department in effort to provide more duties for department members.
There were rumors under their administration that the Audit & Accountability Committee had an open Administrative Inquiry on Thenameis_User, causing turmoil amongst various departmental individuals, however there are no confirmed sources. This caused the resignation of Thenameis_User as the Research Director.
vasik30 Administration
vasik30 was then selected to serve as the Research Director.
Their term concluded with a resignation letter[2] citing various claims on their own behalf and that of the administration.
DJ_met04 Administration
DJ_met04 was then selected to serve as the Research Director.
Their term is on-going.

Overseer
The Scientific Department Overseer is the individual responsible for general oversight and executive direction over the department as a whole. The Overseer is responsible for working alondside the Research Director on strategic, long-term goals and solutions.
The Overseer holds a Central Command/Security Class 5 position within the Foundation.
Research Director
The Research Director is the individual responsible for direct oversight and leadership of the department as a whole. The Research Director is responsible for working alongside their Central Command colleagues and the Overseer on strategic, long-term goals and solutions. The Research Director also plays a crucial role in enforcing and making policy for the department.
The Research Director holds a Central Command/Security Class 4 position within the Foundation.
Deputy Research Director
The Deputy Research Director is the group of individuals responsible for assisting the Research Director in the leadership of the department as a whole. The Deputy Research Director is responsible for ensuring that the department is overseen and managed in an efficient matter, working closely with the Overseer and Research Director. A Deputy Research Director may also serve as an Interim Research Director in special cases when in the absence of the Research Director.
The Deputy Research Director holds a Central Command/Security Class 4 position within the Foundation.
Research Manager
The Research Managers are the individuals responsible for assisting Central Command in leadership, overseeing the department's operations and command team, and working on and/or delegating projects to their subordinates. Research Managers typically serve various sub-roles, with each role overseeing a various field of the department. Examples include test management, provost to Lead Researchers, Board Chair to Research Superivsors, and other less-signifigant roles.
A Research Manager holds a High Command/Security Class 3 position within the Foundation.
Research Supervisor
The Research Supervisors make up the main administrative board for the department. Research Supervisors are important to legislative actions, carrying out administrative actions, and overseeing the department alongside the rest of their superior commands. They are also responsible for hosting events and completing assignments from their superiors.
A Research Supervisor holds a Medium Command/Security Class 2 position within the Foundation.
Lead Researcher
The Lead Researchers make up the junior command of the department. Lead Researchers are primarily responsible for enforcing policy and ensuring that events are hosted frequently, grading test log submissions, and serving as role models for the rest of the department.
A Lead Researcher holds a Junior Command/Security Class 2 position within the Foundation.
Senior Researcher
Senior Researchers are the most senior individuals within the department. They are granted the highest testing clearance within the department. Senior Researchers are meant to be role models for other department members. Senior Researchers are also responsible for assisting command in hosting events (serving as co-host/s).
Senior Researchers hold a Security Class 1 position within the Foundation.
Researcher
Researchers are the second-most senior individuals within the department. Researchers are granted a moderate testing clearance level within the department. Researchers are also responsible for assisting command in hosting events (serving as co-host/s).

Junior Researcher
Junior Researchers are junior members of the department. They are granted with various clearances with testing, and members who have passed their internship within the department, and granted more overall freedom.

Research Intern
Research Interns are students who have passed their academic phase of their departmental career. They are granted minimal testing access, and primarily responsible for completing their internship.

Research Student
Research Students are new members of the department that have no testing access. Their main responsibility is to complete their academic phase of their departmental career.
